Armed with above average writing skills, an artillery of songs, determination and unwavering confidence, positive work ethics, the first name that comes to my mind is dancehall artist Trekar.
Trekar is a talented recording artist whose versatility and talent easily transcends this generation. His often unique delivery and flow has brought a refreshing taste to the music industry which has placed him among the top up and coming artists in Jamaica.
Like legendary dancehall artist Vybz Kartel, Trekar is a native of the Sunshine City; known popularly as Portmore in St Catherine Jamaica. The artist identified his passion for music while attending Wolmer’s Boys High School in Grade 9 and later developed his skills as his writing capability continuously improved with practice.
In his formative years before venturing into the music business, he had aspirations of becoming an entrepreneur, Track and Field star or a basketball superstar. The artist is always busy in the studio creating new records on a daily basis and has so far produced a slew of songs professionally over the past few years and his music catalog has grown significantly with genres like Dancehall, Reggae, Rhythm and Blues and Trap. Hopefully, his diversity as an artist will allow him to venture into other genres as well.
Trekar has so far released singles like “Top Man” and “Real Know Real.” The song “Top Man” has been getting some rave reviews and has been featured heavily in the urban areas of Canada. The music video for “Top Man” also premiered on BETJams in the month of May 2018. He is also working on his debut Ep “6 City” which will be released under the MaineStone Music Canada imprint.
Trekar was determined to make a name for himself, so he signed with a Canadian record label called MaineStone Music Canada in October 2017, which has then provided a platform for him grow and developed, not only as a local talent but as an international artist as well. The platform MaineStone Music Canada provided has encouraged Trekar to double the effort in creating music and to understand the fundamental foundation of the music business.
Much of Trekar’s content has secured a strong fan base on social media, he’sp also looking forward to winning over local and international fans while securing various awards both local and internationally. Well known among his peers for his writing skill and strong vocal capability, Trekar seems poised to be a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. Whether it his warm personality, or his professional delivery on tracks, Trekar continues to make his mark and will be a valuable asset to the entertainment industry.
