A Tribute To A Few
In Honor Of International Women’s Month
All over the world, there is a woman going above and beyond for her family, her friends, and her career inspiring everyone around her on a daily basis. The problem, is these inspirational women don’t always get enough credit for all that they do. So this month I have decided to give my followers a chance to share some of their stories about the women who inspire them most. I can go on for days about women empowerment but this article isn’t about that so I’m just going to jump right into the tales of these amazing women and the major impact they have on all those around them.
Leila (LEO) LadyBoss
Beauty blogger: @leolovescolourpop
JEWELRY DESIGNER: blackgirljuice1
The Person She Inspires: Tamarra @roxreviews
Leila and Tamarra are best friends and partners in everything. Tamarra refers to Leila as her Dolphin, meaning that she is her companion to the highest level of life. Leila is the glue to not only her family that she started with her husband but for her siblings and parents alike. On an everyday basis, she inspires Tamarra to keep calm and remain herself, no matter how different she appears. She is strong as a second nature.
“Forever I needed you and forever you were there, inevitably. I love you and there’s nuffn you can do about it.” -Tamarra
I have some words of appreciation to both these women that I would like to add.
Tamarra, thank you for always encouraging me to do anything I put my mind to. Watching you always inspired me to continue to be artistically different. I love you forever and always.
Leila, thank you for always inspiring to speak my mind. Realest Leo, I have ever met.
The Person She Inspires: Mike @lilbbq
Katherine and Mike are family connected thru his sister in law. Both are in the food business running their own companies. Katherine is a baker and Mike is a chef. She gives him the inspiration to overcome all his obstacles and continue to excel in his craft. Following her success with every cake order after the next makes him want to go harder every time. She is not just a baker but a mom, a student, and an overall go-getter. Who wouldn’t be inspired every day by a woman who balances so many things in life and still finds a way to get it all done.
“Kat, keep doing what you do ever since the first cake you made for me I knew I never had to hire another baker in my life. I look forward to you making my wedding cake and birthday cakes for the children that follow. May the sun true giver of all life continue to bless you.
Dance Company Owner
The Person She Inspires: Ciaseem @clickmybic
Ciassem worked with Sydnie at the Grosvenor House YMCA for quite a number of years. Sydnie taught dance to kids ages 5-12 for after school and tender care kids. He has also attended a few of her performances for her dance company Sydnie L. Mosley Dances. They loved working with kids. There is a particular passion, patience, and strength it takes to work well with young children. Everybody thinks they can do it, but it takes a special type of individual to really be about it. Teachers have their students, caregivers take care of the babies, Sydnie is my babies type of teacher. That small pronoun change tells Ciaseem that this is a woman who invests not only in her craft but every valuable aspect teaching her craft to young people. Sydnie uses SLM Dances to not only display her art but to also empower women, and bring awareness to issues from body image to street harassment. She inspires Ciaseem because she is selfless, nurturing and supports any and every one with a positive and uplifting agenda. Even on her down days, she tends to brighten up the room with her energy.
“Sydnie, it was a pleasure working with you. You are a rare breed in the field of youth development and an inspiration in your choreography and company. I love the ensemble of artists you put together and I’ve learned so much from your shows over the years. You are definitely one of the few that make me look at the feminist in me and constantly ask myself, how can I become a better man and encourage the men around me to do the same.”-Ciaseem
The Diaz Sisters
Dancer, Actor, Model
Amazing Dedicated Mother Of Three
Mother, Student, Go Getter
The Person They Inspire: Myself (Bonnie Speaks)
In my everyday life, the women who inspire me the most are my sisters. Like most sisters, we don’t always agree and with four women in one house, we bumped heads a lot. One thing was always for sure tho, we always had each other’s back. I am the oldest and they all look up to me but in return, I have learned a lot from them. Asanti is the youngest yet the most dedicated. She knew from young that dancing was life for her and stops at nothing to pursue a career in it. With every performance and every show, she inspires me to always keep going. Watching her strive for greatness keeps me motivated to never give up doing what I love the most.
Bridget is the mother hen of the bunch. She is always bending over backwards to make sure that we are all good no matter what. Bridget is definitely my backbone I can go to her with anything and she will be there any day, anytime. The inspiration I get from her is to keep grinding as a mother even on days when I just want to give up. No matter what she goes thru her kids are always first. As a single mom, it’s never easy so I commend her every day for all the hard work she puts in for her boys, her family, and her friends.
Brittany is the middle child of the bunch and can be the biggest pain in the butt. Now even tho she drives me insane she is definitely the one you can always count on to get a job done. Her drive when she puts her mind to something is amazing to watch. She’s been a diabetic since young and never let it stand in her way. As a hardworking mother and full-time student, I can’t help but look up to her. The inspiration I get from her is that where there is a will there is away. A thousand people can tell me something can’t be done or that I will never get where I want to be but she always reminds me that I can.
” I never asked for you but at that the same time I wouldn’t trade you ladies for the world. Let’s face it growing up without you would have been just plain boring. Thank you for giving my life excitement all these years. I love you, you are my first babies and I couldn’t be more proud of how you all turned out.”

“Monique, you inspire me to always want to take my brand to the next level. You make me want to go bigger and better with every business move I make. Thank you for giving a platform to stand on and take off. I appreciate you.”
“Ebony, girl I could be here all day writing an essay about the way you inspire me. You always knew I was talented and made sure that I always remembered what I was worth. Thank you for always being in my corner and reminding me that I am an amazing woman when I tend to forget it. I love you Aries Twin.”
“Dot, we have only known each other for such a small amount of time but I’m inspired by you because it takes a lot of courage to pick up and relocate. I have watched you come to a whole new jungle and demand to make a name for yourself. Continue to grind and never lose sight of your goals. “
