Over the years, I’ve continued to bump into the artist named “Maddadan.” Be it at a party, a radio interview, VP Records, a Jamaican restaurant, or press conference, this man was everywhere! I can’t tell you if it was coincidental or fate, but one thing I do know is; it was destined for us to network on some type of level.
Our last run in of sorts was at the ECIPS Music Festival press conference, where he sat amongst the seasoned elite of the Dancehall community with ease. Many called him the “New Kid” on the block, or a local artist from Queens NYC when they referred to him during the Q & A part of the press conference.
To me, it was his body language that spoke volumes, without him actually saying much. He smiled and did what many artists do while being questioned, but it was the aura of determination that he gave off, letting you know that the day of the ECIPS Music Festival he was going to make his presence felt.
I’m not one to allow the constant nagging of my musical soul to go unnoticed, denying it the right to know more about a particular artist, who has the potential to make an impact on the genre of music I happen to love. I needed Maddadan to answer some of my #Valid Questions:
Maddadan, Is a youth that continues to strive for a change; by changing the music industry, with my God-given talents.
When I used to choreograph dance routines while attending August Martin High School in Queens NYC. Im a true Dancehall King!
Life and her mysterious ways.
There’s nothing to defend when you do it for the love of the music, and not for the hype.
The positive energy and real people that surround me.
The ECIPS MUSIC FESTIVAL was just another day on the job. The music festival had no effect what so ever on me and my music career.
I believe it’s a plus, but not a must
To expect the unexpected
My passion for music is what makes me and anyone else that has the same love for music a valid artist.
The birth of my daughter the #RealPrincessLyric
It is imperative to uplift this and every generation with a significant message through music and culture.
